Asphyx Necroceros

Was waren die Gründe dafür?

Orden Ogan) in seinem Studio „Greenmann Studios“.

Was dürfen eure Fans erwarten?

„you get what you deserve“! Was soll ich da schreiben?

Death Doom Metal as its best! Fuck Corona!

Asphyx – neues Album „Necroceros“

Een goede dag met elkaar,

thanks for your time to answer some questions.

Within the last 30 years Asphyx disbanded several times but then you always reunited. What where the reasons?

Hey, I’ll write in German. I’m the only „Mof“ in the Band, haha. In the past they were frequent line-up changes with Asphyx. I think a lot was due to the fact, that the guys were still Bubies back then and you couldn’t/didn’t want to talk to each other a lot. The important Thing is, that Asphyx is still alive and still can play live. With Martin, Paul, Alwin and myself we have the longest-running line-up of all. And this will remain!

How does it feel to be on the stages all over the world for so many years? What changed during that time?

I can only speak for myself. I’ve already played a few shows around the world with my Ex-Bands (Desaster, Sodom, Metalucifer, Decayed and many more). I mean, every show is something special. And in my case I really enjoy traveling around. Even if I, in the worst case, only see the airport, hotel and venue. But meeting new maniacs, testing local food and beer is awesome! I miss flying to other countries at the moment. But to be with the Family is also very nice. In my opinion, not much has changed. Everything is the same as it used to be, only flights are getting shitty.

Martin whenever someone is talking about Asphyx it is always connected to you. Are you officially the band leader? Do the other band members confirm this?

Currently Martin is the longest-serving Member of Asphyx, but we don’t have a directly a „band leader“. Tasks are distributed, everyone does what he can best and thus there is no person  who is above everything. Martin is the mouthpiece and the Frontman.

At the Bavarian Battle Festival you introduced yourself as the “Holländischer Harald Junke”. What is your favorite brewery? Could you imagine a concert without beer?

In every Country, at every Show he is a different native Character, haha! Martin actually likes any beer and he also likes to drink Rum-Cola… All the Bandmembers like to drink beer. For my part, I’m very much into beers, also beer from Czech Republic or Corona… but I also like a bit of Baileys or Guiness…

What kind of concert do you prefer? Is it the big festival shows or small club concerts or something in between?

Both has their Charm. At festivals, of course, everything around is very interesting. You meet a lot of people, a lot o f bands, a lot of buddies… but Asphyx is actually a Club Band. We love being close to the audience. Then you can meet for a refreshing dring at the Counter or have a chat at the Merch-Stand. What I hate about festivals are the autograph sessions. You don’t have time to talk to the fans, they are (unfortunately) dispatched every second, as the times are usually very tight.

Bob, the last founding member left the band in 2014. Have you ever considered to change the name or found a new band?

No, never. Asphyx is and always were what we are now!! A Death Doom Division. The short Experiment with SOULBURN’s „Feeding on Angels“ showed, that everything is running back on Asphyx. I think todays line-up represents the band’s name 100 %. We live Asphyx, are passionate about it and always gibe 110 % on stage to simply offer the fans a great live experience.

Your last album is already 4 years old. Are you working on new material at the moment? When will it be released? Is the new single “Last one on Earth” a hint to the new Album?

The new Album „Necroceros“ will be be released at the end of January. Again via Century Media and again with Cover by Axel Herrmann. Drums/Vokills were recorded again with Tom Meier Recordings in Enschede, guitars and bass with Paul and the whole lot was mixed and mastered with Seeb (among others Orden Ogan) in his Studio „Greenmann Studios“. We wanted to let someone „freshen up“ our songs again. We ware very satisfied with Seeb. He really conjured up a great sound. Until then, he had many Power Metal Bands in his Studio just because of his own Band. However, he is also a big Death Metal and Asphyx Fan.

Can you give us a little insight into the new album? What can your fans expect?

„you get what you deserve“! What should I write? Where it says Ashphys, there is Asphyx inside. As always a mixture of fast Death Metal and stomping Doom parts. Paired with lots of guitar harmonies and Martin’s unmistakable voice. That must be enough, right? Haha!

Thank you so much for this Interview. The last words are yours.

I have to thank! „Necroceros“ will be here soon to cast a spell over you. Death Doom Metal as its best! Stay healthy and we hope to be back on Stage soon under „normal“ conditions. Fuck Corona!
