Wie geht es dir?
Sammy: Mir geht’s ziemlich gut, danke, trotz Corona sind wir immer noch gesund und munter!
Wann wurde Rebellix gegründet und wie seid ihr zusammengekommen?
Sammy: Nun, Rebellix wurde aus der Asche eines anderen Projekts von mir (Sammy) und dem alten Sänger gegründet. Wir trafen uns an unserem alten Arbeitsplatz und hatten das Bedürfnis weiter zu rocken, also schlossen wir uns zusammen und fanden dann andere Bandmitglieder.
Was für Metal spielt ihr?
Sammy: Das ist eine Frage, die uns viele Leute gestellt haben, und ich kann wirklich keine genaue Antwort finden. Viele beschreiben uns als Thrash Metal Band und wir haben zwar viele Einflüsse aus dem Genre, aber wir kombinieren auch klassischen Heavy Metal sowie Hard Rock und Punk.
Hast du schon mal in einer anderen Band gespielt?
Sammy: Nun, ich habe vorher in ein paar Bands gespielt, die erwähnenswerteste war wahrscheinlich Neurosphere, als ich in Rom lebte, aber abgesehen davon hatte ich noch viele andere Projekte und Bands.
Interessierst du dich für andere Stile außer Metal?
Sammy: Nun ja! Ich spiele gerne klassische Gitarre und liebe klassische Musik, und das ist definitiv in unserer Musik zu hören, außerdem liebe ich Old School Rock und Progressive Rock Musik aus den 70ern.
Wann hast du angefangen, dein Instrument zu spielen oder zu singen? Hattest du eine klassische Ausbildung?
Sammy: Ich habe im Alter von 18 Jahren angefangen, Gitarre zu spielen, ich habe damals ein paar Gitarrenstunden genommen, aber dann bin ich meinen eigenen Weg gegangen, und ich kann sagen, dass es mir sehr geholfen hätte, wenn ich nicht ein rebellisches Arschloch gewesen wäre, als ich jünger war und einfach akzeptiert hätte, dass ich etwas Training gebraucht hätte, hehehe 😀
Aber am Ende habe ich meinen eigenen Sound und meinen eigenen Stil gefunden, über den ich sehr glücklich bin.
Das Singen ist für mich eine völlig neue Sache, denn ich habe erst vor eineinhalb Jahren angefangen, in der Band zu singen, vorher habe ich nur Backing Vocals gemacht … Und ja, ich habe ziemlich viele Gesangsstunden genommen!
Hast du ein Idol, das dich inspiriert? Welche Band beeinflusst dich zu deiner Musik?
Sammy: Nun, ich habe in der Tat ein paar Idole, angefangen mit Alexi Laiho, Marty Friedman und Lemmy Kilmister, und die Liste wäre immer noch sehr lang, also werde ich sie nicht fortsetzenaber die größten Einflüss für meine Musik sind tatsächlich Children of Bodom, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Slayer und Megadeth gewesen.
Wie oft kommt ihr zur Bandprobe zusammen?
Sammy: Wir proben ungefähr einmal pro Woche für ungefähr 2-3 Stunden, aber wenn wir einen Gig veranstalten oder ins Studio geehn, könnten die Proben viel öfter, und länger ausfallen.
Welches Konzert war bisher dein persönliches Highlight?
Sammy: Mit Rebellix hatten wir ein paar wirklich tolle Gigs, einer davon beim Louhela Jam Festival in Finnland. Wir haben dort einen Bandwettbewerb gewonnen und durften auf der zweiten Bühne den Headlinespot spielen. Das war unglaublich, sage ich dir! Das Beste am Festival ist, dass es ein kostenloses Festival mitten in der Natur ist und viele Leute kommen, um sich einfach nur zu entspannen und die Bands zu sehen. Auf jeden Fall etwas, was ihr ausprobieren solltet, wenn ihr es noch nicht getan habt!
Hast du irgendwelche Pläne für die Zukunft?
Sammy: Wir sind gerade dabei, die Aufnahmen unserer neuen EP zu beenden, wir hatten einige Probleme wegen der Corona-Situation und so, aber wir machen einfach weiter und rocken weiter! Unsere neue EP wird härter, schmutziger und viel komplexer als unsere vorherigen Werke. Wir freuen uns sehr über die Ergebnisse der Songs und können es kaum erwarten, sie zu veröffentlichen.

Sammy: Nun, ihr solltet euch Rebellix auf spotify und youtube anschauen, wenn ihr verdammten Kickass-Heavy-Metal wollt, zum moschen oder euren Tag zu verschönern! Hoffentlich werden wir eines Tages wieder auf Tour gehen, wenn diese Pandemie vorbei ist, damit wir unsere ohrenbetäubenden Melodien in eure Stadt bringen können!

How are you?
Sammy: I’m pretty good thanks, despite corona we’re still alive and kicking!
When was Rebelix founded and how did you come together?
Sammy: Well Rebellix was founded from the ashes of other project by me (Sammy) and the old singer. We met at our old work place and we felt a need to continue rocking so we joined forces and then we found other band members
What kind of metal do you play?
Sammy: That’s a question that a lot of people is been asking to us and I really can’t find a precise answer. Many describe us as a thrash metal band and indeed we have a lot of influences from the genre but we also combine some classic heavy metal in it aswell as some Hard Rock and punk.
Did you play in another band before?
Sammy: Well I played in few bands before, the most remarkable probably being Neurosphere back when I lived in Rome, but had plenty of other projects and bands other than that 😊
Are you interested in other styles besides metal?
Sammy: Well yes! I like to play classical guitar and love classical music, and that can be definitely heard in our music, also I love old school rock and progressive rock music from the 70’s
When did you start playing your instrument or starting to sing? Did you have any classical training?
Sammy: I started to play the guitar at the age of 18, I took few guitar lessons back in the day but then I went on my own way, and I can say that it would have helped me a lot if I wouldn’t had been that rebel asshole I was when I was younger and just accepted I needed a training hehehe 😀
But in the end I managed to find my own sound and my own style which I am really happy about.
About singing is a completely new thing to me since I started singing as lead singer in the band just one and a half year ago, before that I was just doing backing vocals… And yes I took plenty of singing lessons!
Do you have an idol who inspire you? Which band influence you to your music?

Sammy: Well I have a few idols indeed, going from Alexi Laiho, Marty Friedman, Lemmy Kilmister, and the list would be still long so I won’t continue it, tho the most influent for me in my music are indeed been Children of Bodom, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Slayer and Megadeth.
How often do you come together for the band rehearsal?
Sammy: We go about once a week for about 2/3 hours, ofcourse if we are about to throw a gig or going to the studio we might have much more rehearsals and indeed longer ones.
Which concert has been your personal highlight so far?
Sammy: With Rebellix we had a couple of really amazing gigs, one of them being at the Louhela Jam Festival in Finland. We won a band competition there and we got to play the headline spot on the second stage, that stuff was amazing I tell you ! The best about the festival is that is a free festival and in the middle of the nature, there is a lot of people coming just to chill and watch the bands, definitely something to try if you haven’t already!
Do you have any plans in the future?
Sammy: We are now finishing to record our new EP, we had some troubles now due to corona situation and stuff but here we are going forward and keep on rocking! Our new Ep is gonna be heavier, dirtier and way more complex compared to our previous works, we are really happy about the results with the song and we can’t wait to release it
